Pork Patties Steaks

Here's a substitute for Beef Steaks. Use minced pork instead and you'll find it so quick to make and delicious too!

Ingredients:

Pork minced - 500 grams
Pinch of salt
Ground black pepper- generous amount according to taste
Egg - 1, beaten slightly
Small lime - 3 pieces
Soy sauce, dark - 3 tablespoon
Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
White onions- 1 large, cut into rings
Olive oil for frying
Water- 1 cup

Procedure:
1. Mix pork, pepper, salt, bread crumbs,and egg
2. Form patties using your hand, 3" diameter
3. Heat fry pan and add a small amount of olive oil
4. Fry the patties till golden brown
5. Set aside
6. Put additional Olive oil just enough to saute the onions
7. Allow the onion to caramelize
8. Add the pork patties
9. Pour the soy sauce and squeeze the small limes to add flavor
10.Add a pinch of salt, taking care not to add too much
11.Cover and simmer over medium heat till gravy slightly thickens
12.Serve with warm white rice.

FAVOURITE FILIPINO DISH - PORK ADOBO

PORK ADOBO

Here's a tip.. how to cut down preparation time in making this ever popular dish called PORK ADOBO.Ingredients are so simple and yet that mix of sourness, salty and pepper makes it a savoury dish.

Ingredients:

Pork, cut into cubes , 500 grams
Dark soy sauce, 1/4 cup
Light soy sauce, 1/4 cup
Rice vinegar , 1/4 cup
Pinch of salt
Garlic, 1 whole clove , peeled and pressed
Bay leaf - 1 pc (can substitute rosemary)
Black, coarse pepper to taste
Olive oil

How to prepare ADOBO

1. Heat a frying pan with a little olive oil
2. Saute the garlic pieces till fragrant
3. Add in the pork, few pieces at a time and fry till slightly browned
4. Finish all the remaining pieces of pork, while removing those already browned
5. Add back all the pork pieces into the pan and add the vinegar
6. Let the vinegar boil a few minutes with the pork
7. Add the soy sauce light and the dark and black pepper
8. Cover and simmer.
9. Transfer the pork and sauce mixture into a slow cooker
10.Finish off the cooking time in a slow cooker till pork is really tender
11. Add pinch of salt, taking care not to add too much as soy sauce is already salty
12. Stir occasionally and cook while covered in the slow cooker
13. Add water if necessary but not too much.
13. Serve hot with rice.

Corn Bread Pudding

Today I made great tasting bread pudding. Here's the recipe so you can try it yourself!

Ingredients:

Stale white bread - 6 slices or more
Milk - 1 cup or more depends on number of bread slices
Caster sugar - 3 tablespoons or to taste
Corn kernels - 1 can
Corn syrup- 1 tsp
Vanilla - 1 tsp

How to do?

1.Tear bread slices into small pieces by hand.
2. Put bread into a mixing bowl.
3. Add in milk, enough to soak the bread but not too much
4. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon.
5. Butter a baking pan on all sides and bottom
6. Transfer the bread mix into the baking pan
7. Put into a preheated conventional oven at 200deg C
8. Bake for 25 minutes or until top is slightly browned
9. Remove pan from oven and let it cool on a rack before slicing.

I can't help it! I am eager to share tips and tried and tested recipes in my own kitchen! I get excited when I try everyday recipes and get good results! In this site you can learn how to make it easier to churn out appetizing and enjoyable dishes and desserts for your family. I always enjoy Saturday afternoons when I spend time in the kitchen, either baking or cooking delicious meals.

I'd like to share with you a simple recipe for making Chocolate chip muffins.
Try this, so far the best muffin texture and flavor ever!


CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS

Ingredients:

Plain flour 280 grams
Eggs - 2
Butter or margarine - 3 tablespoons
Icing sugar - 200 grams
Yoghurt, plain , regular - 16o ml
Milk-- 5 tablespoon (use full cream milk)
Bicarbonate of soda - 1 tsp
Chocolate chips - 160 grams

Procedure:

1. Preheat convection oven to 20o deg C
2. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs, beat slightly using a spoon
4. Add the yoghurt and milk and mix with the creamed sugar and eggs
5. Weigh the flour and add the bicarbonate of soda, mix them well on a separate bowl
6. Add the flour mixture to the creamed sugar mixture
7. Mix with a wooden spoon until mixed but not too much. Halfway during the stirring,
add the chocolate chips and mix slightly till chips and evenly distributed.
8. Take 12 muffin paper cases and fill them up with the mixture. Use big paper cases.
9. Bake inside oven for 20 minutes or till muffins are springy to the touch and
slightly browned
10.Cool the muffins in the baking tray while they remain tilted. Use a fork as it
can be hot and tilt the muffins sideways while cooling in the tray
11.When almost cool to the touch, transfer muffins onto a wire rack to cool
completely.
